Newsletter - 27 March 2018 - V1 API in Beta
27 March 2018
In this newsletter for exchanges we share news of the latest IOHK development and work done specifically for exchanges. The previous newsletter can be found here.
IOHK teams continue finalizing version one (V1) of the API that will be included in Cardano 1.2.0 release. Our Wallet Backend team implemented the API client for testing and filtering by transaction timestamp and ID. They are completing integration tests and working on logging, importing an initial wallet to give money to spend on transactions and other issues. The V1 API is in beta, and is currently available on our development branch. It is fully usable, but unstable and can be used at the user’s own risk. It will stay in beta for some time until we obtain feedback and make sure we are satisfying all exchanges’ requirements.
The team obtained valuable feedback on the documentation published recently and have been working on an update, which is currently being reviewed. The team has added more examples for more endpoints.
The DevOps team has been improving existing documentation on deployment. They are adding a FAQ section that will include information on where to find documentation, as well as links to the localhost endpoints to try documented use cases. Engineers are working on functional and other tests. After Cardano 1.2.0 release they will plan the process for integration of the V1 API for exchanges. Exchanges will be contacted about this in due course.
Further updates will continue and in the meantime for more information on the latest Cardano development please see our weekly update on cardanohub.org.
