"Error opening the file for writing" when installing on Windows

Problem

Installation aborts on Windows operating systems with messages similar to this:

Causes

1. There is version of Daedalus already running in your system 

2. Controlled folder access is turned on

Solution

1. Make sure close any other version of Daedalus  while you execute the installer.

2. Turn off controlled folder access as shown in Allow an app to access controlled folders
