October 16, 2019, We recommend that you wait for installers which we are developing before attempting to install and use jormungandr on Windows. These instructions will likely not work for you. If you are still keen to run jormungandr on windows you can try using git bash which allows you to enter Linux commands found in the Linux articles on this site but we do not support the use of Git Bash here.
Now we are going to create an address that will receive funds from the faucet.
You can create it manually, using the below steps in your command-line program, or you can use a script:
How to Generate an address manually
Execute the following 3 commands in your command line program (Linux console or GitBash in Windows):
./jcli key generate --type=Ed25519Extended > receiver_secret.key cat receiver_secret.key | ./jcli key to-public > receiver_public.key ./jcli address account --testing $(cat receiver_public.key) | tee receiver_account.txt
This is the expected output which is your address:
With the Account address, we can now receive and send tokens.
Note: For sending funds/tokens from one account, you will need the
private key of the account so make sure to save it for future use.
