Release date: 22 April 2020
The fifth Daedalus Flight candidate for the 1.0.0 release fixes numerous smaller issues, as well as making multiple user experience improvements to prepare for a release to all Daedalus users.
Spending password validation
Daedalus 1.0.0 requires new spending passwords to be at least 10 characters long. If an imported wallet had a spending password shorter than 10 characters, it was previously impossible to generate new addresses and confirm transactions unless the password was changed using wallet settings. This issue is now resolved, and users can continue to use their original shorter spending password.
Improved process management
Process management in Daedalus has been improved and the Cardano node process will no longer continue to run after closing Daedalus. This was causing the "Cardano Node crashed” issue for some users. This issue is now resolved.
Persistent "Blank screen fix" setting
The ‘Blank screen fix’ setting was not persisting in earlier Daedalus 1.0.0 Flight candidate releases, causing the setting to be turned off again after restarting Daedalus. This issue is now resolved.
Improvements for Daedalus diagnostics screen
The Daedalus diagnostics screen now displays more information, including the Daedalus build number, process IDs, and ports for both the Cardano node and Cardano wallet.
Wallet syncing progress
In rare cases, wallet syncing progress remained visible even when wallets were 100% synced with the Cardano blockchain. This issue is now resolved.
Wallet import feature
The wallet import feature now has a Learn more link to a support portal article with instructions on how to use the feature. It also has numerous small user experience and styling improvements.
