Cardano 2.4.0: Shelley Performance Enhancement and New Functionality - Release Notes
Cardano 2.4.0Cardano 2.4.0 includes multiple releases that deliver new functionality and improved performance for its seven components. The latest updates are: Cardano Node 1.21.1, SMASH 1.1.0, Cardano DB Sync 5.0.2, Cardano GraphQL 2.2.0, Cardano Explorer 1.2.0, Cardano Addresses 2.1.0, and Cardano Wallet 2020.9.30. Information about the latest Cardano component releases, including links to the corresponding Github release notes, is now published on the Cardano documentation site. Cardano Node 1.19.0, Cardano Node 1.19.1, Cardano Node 1.20.0, Cardano Node 1.21.0, Cardano Node 1.21.1The five recent Cardano node releases - Cardano Node 1.19.0, Cardano Node 1.19.1, Cardano Node 1.20.0, Cardano Node 1.21.0, and Cardano Node 1.21.1 have significantly enhanced the node's performance, including synchronisation time, startup time, epoch boundary processing, and reward calculation. The updates have introduced several new CLI commands, updated a number of existing commands, and added support for multi-signature addresses and transactions. More details can be found in the respective GitHub release notes. The latest version of the node, Cardano Node 1.21.1 was deployed to both the testnet and mainnet, and was released on 7 October, 2020. Cardano DB Sync 5.0.0, Cardano DB Sync 5.0.1, Cardano DB Sync 5.0.2The Cardano DB Sync component synthesizes blockchain data into a relational database. The Cardano DB Sync 5.0.0, Cardano DB Sync 5.0.1 and Cardano DB Sync 5.0.2 releases provide a number of schema changes, validation additions, and bug fixes. The Cardano DB Sync 5.0.0 release included changes that were backwards incompatible, so the database must be recreated when upgrading. The latest release, Cardano DB Sync 5.0.2, was deployed to the mainnet on 13 October, 2020. SMASH 1.1.0Stakepool Metadata Aggregation Server (SMASH) collects stake pool information (metadata) from the Cardano blockchain and stores it on an off-chain server. Smash 1.1.0 is a small update that includes a new query to request a reason for pool metadata lookup failure, as well as some bug fixes. It was released on 10 September, 2020. Cardano GraphQL 2.1.0 and Cardano GraphQL 2.2.0Cardano GraphQL provides an API and packages for building services to query the Cardano blockchain database over a GraphQL interface. Cardano GraphQL 2.1.0 and Cardano GraphQL 2.2.0 are minor updates that provide several schema and build enhancements. They also align with the Cardano DB Sync changes and resolve some outstanding issues. The latest Cardano GraphQL 2.2.0 was released on 24 September, 2020. Cardano Explorer 1.1.0 and Cardano Explorer 1.2.0The Cardano Explorer application is a web application that allows Cardano blockchain data to be viewed and queried. This data includes details about epochs, blocks, transactions, and addresses. The two September releases, Cardano Explorer 1.1.0 and Cardano Explorer 1.2.0, added withdrawals, deposit, and deposit reclaim details to transactions, separate slots and blocks, and enhanced the footer to include information about the version deployed. The latest Cardano Explorer 1.2.0 version was deployed to both the testnet and mainnet, and released on 30 September, 2020. Cardano Addresses 2.0.0 and Cardano Addresses 2.1.0Cardano Addresses is a low-level library that provides a wallet backup phrase and address derivation functionality. Cardano Addresses 2.0.0 adds CLI cardano-address for managing recovery-phrases, keys and addresses, and support for Shelley-specific address types. Cardano Addresses 2.1.0, included further improvements and was released on 29 September, 2020. Cardano Wallet 2020.9.11, Cardano Wallet 2020.9.22, Cardano Wallet 2020.9.30The Cardano wallet backend provides an HTTP API and a CLI for sending and receiving payments on the Cardano blockchain. The three recent September releases, Cardano Wallet 2020.9.11, Cardano Wallet 2020.9.22, and Cardano Wallet 2020.9.30, delivered transaction metadata, performance improvements, pool metrics, and an address inspection feature. The latest version, Cardano Wallet 2020.9.30, was released on 1 October, 2020. --------------------------- Cardano versioninghttps://iohk.io/blog/how-cardano-releases-are-versioned/ Cardano testnetshttps://testnet.iohkdev.io/cardano/
