Daedalus 4.0.0-RC1 release notes
Release date: 26 February 2021
Daedalus 4.0.0-RC1 (for the Cardano testnet) brings support for native tokens, making Daedalus a multi-asset wallet that enables users to send and receive native tokens.
Sending native tokens with hardware wallets is currently not supported. Hardware wallet support will be added in an upcoming Daedalus 4.0.0 release candidate, before full native token functionality is released with Daedalus Mainnet.
New features
Native tokens
Daedalus 4.0.0-RC1 is a significant enhancement that enables users to send and receive native tokens. Wallet addresses can now receive both ada and native tokens contained in single Cardano transactions.
The Cardano testnet faucet provides access to testnet ada (tAda) and native token Testcoin for testing native token functionality. These tokens have no actual value, but enable users to experiment with Cardano testnet features, without having to spend real ada on mainnet.
Redeem ITN rewards feature moved to the application menu
The icon for redeeming the Incentivized Testnet rewards has been moved from the Daedalus left-hand menu to the application menu, since this feature is rarely used.
Fixed issues
Spending rewards with hardware wallets
It was not possible to spend ada from the rewards account when making transactions with hardware wallets. This issue has been resolved. Transactions made with hardware wallets now behave the same as transactions made with software wallets, where ada from the rewards account is spent automatically, as needed.
Tooltips in the Delegation center
Tooltips were only displayed when hovering over the stake pool ticker on a stake pool tile in the Delegation center. This issue has been resolved, and tooltips are now displayed when hovering over any part of the stake pool tile.
Undelegated wallet showing as delegated
Wallets that are undelegated in Yoroi (or any other wallet that supports undelegation functionality) were displayed as delegated in the Daedalus Delegation center. This issue has been resolved.
