Daedalus 4.1.0-FC1 enables configuration settings for decimal places in native tokens with recommended values fetched from the Cardano token registry. This version also includes overall improvements and resolves some known issues.
Decimal places for native tokens
Native tokens are represented as whole numbers (numbers without decimals) on the blockchain. However, fungible tokens usually have one or more decimal points (ada has six and Bitcoin has eight, for instance).
Daedalus 4.1.0-FC1 enables manual configuration of the number of decimal places that is required for each native token held in your wallet.
Native token details are registered through the Cardano token registry, which now supports registration of the number of decimal places for native tokens.
If you are holding a native token for which the number of decimal places is registered on the Cardano token registry, Daedalus will display a yellow exclamation mark indicating that a recommended value for decimal places is available, and will be used as default in the native token configuration.
Searchable conversion currencies
Daedalus 4.1.0-FC1 simplifies the visualization of ada conversion values by enabling a search function for available currencies.
Receiving address verification with hardware wallet devices
Receiving addresses can now be verified with hardware wallet devices before being used to receive funds. This is an additional security mechanism that confirms that a receiving address generated by Daedalus and the address generated by a hardware wallet device match. It is recommended not to skip this procedure when getting a receiving address to receive funds since it provides additional security and confidence that a receiving address belongs to your wallet.
Sending funds to the same wallet
Attempting a transaction where the source and destination wallets are the same will now result in a warning message. This will prevent situations whereby funds would not be moved but still incur transaction fees.
Pasting wallet recovery phrases
Daedalus 4.1.0-FC1 enables the pasting of recovery phrases when restoring a wallet or verifying a phrase (previously you could only type them). Keeping recovery phrases in the computer clipboard is strongly discouraged for security reasons, but this feature was often requested by users who avail of password managers to store their recovery phrases.
Daedalus 4.0.5 removed the selected conversion currency for displaying ada balance in a different currency, forcing to repeat the configuration setting. This issue is now resolved. Additionaly, the converted value and the amount of time since the fresh conversion rate was fetched is now shown while Daedalus is experiencing network connectivity issues instead of not displaying the converted value at all.
Hardware wallet support
Hardware wallet support has been vastly improved, with numerous minor issues resolved. Using hardware wallets with Daedalus is now more robust, especially when a wallet device is busy or is reconnected.
Wallet names in pop-over windows
Pop over windows which cover the main user interface now always include the name of the wallet you are performing an action on since the wallet name could not be visible in the blurred main user interface in the background.
